Ban The Bag
The Oregon legislature is debating Senate Bill 536, which would outlaw the use of plastic bags at retail store check-outs (read more from oregonlive.com). In order to keep the beaches and environment clean, the Oregon Surfrider Foundation is working to make this a reality. As part of that mission, it is sponsoring showings of the documentary Bag It at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland from March 4 through 10. Proceeds will go to organizations (like Surfrider) that are working to ban plastic bags. Check out bagitoregon.com for more details about the showings.
