Beards, Music and Beer

Hopefully you’ve been rocking no-shave November, so you’ll be primed and ready for the first annual Battle of the Beards at the OSU Alumni Center Saturday, December 3rd, presented by Jebediah Awesome and sponsored by Dan Sweet Design and C.ORE Freeride.

In addition to fantastic facial hair, there’s going to be great music headlined by Larry and His Flask and opened by Sassparilla, Mcdougall, and Henry Hill Kammerer (formerly with Hillstomp).

That’s right, four back-to-back sets of boot-stomping, whiskey-dripping punk-folk-bluegrass.

As if beards and banjos weren't enough, there’s also going to be Ninkasi Total Domination, Deschutes Brewery Mirror Pond Pale, and Pabst on tap. Brews will go for $4 a cup with good ole Blue Ribbon getting served in a bigger cup to make up for its lower quality.

Tickets will cost you $12 bucks ahead of time and $15 at the door, but that’s only $3 or so bucks per band (GET TICKETS). Plus, anyone who comes to the show gets free entry into the Battle of the Beards. There will be categories for best mustache, full beard, freestyle beard, and if you’re a hairless fellow or lady there’s a category for best facial covering--throw a bandanna on those smooth cheeks and get in there.

Winners get prizes from Ninkasi, Diehluxe Designs, Phloem Longboards, and us, NW Surf & Snow.

It's the first bash presented by Jebediah Awesome, and we want it to be great. So help us spread the word. If you want, print off some posters and tack them up at your local watering holes and outdoor shops.

Come on out. It’s going to be excellent.
