Otter Rock And Roll

When Lincoln City, Oregon local Ken Wilson isn’t busy stand up paddling the rivers and waves on the central Oregon coast, manning-up at Tackle Buster Reef, or road tripping the NW looking for some clean lines, he’s busy spreading the stoke to new surfers--whether it’s giving an SUP lesson or helping organize the Otter Rock and Roll surf contest.

Held June 18th at Otter Rock just north of Newport, Oregon this contest has only one restriction: you have to be 18 or younger to compete. Other than that, the contest is open to anyone regardless of skill level, board shape or size. It’s $10 to pre-register and $20 on the beach, but there are only 50 entry slots, so get on it (registration form). Along with the contest, there will be a beach cleanup in anticipation of International Surfing Day ( June 20th) and other games and activities. It’s sure to be a good time, with mellow waves and good vibes.

Bring your kids, your dog, a garbage bag and whatever board makes you happy. If you want to help with the contest, shoot an email to otterrocknroll@gmail.com. If you want to help sponsor the event, drop a line to Ken at ken@awesomesurfvideos.com.

See you there.
